Kurei is the son of Ouka and Reina and the older brother of Recca. He possesses a flame power, the "Phoenix" just like his Dad and was destined to be the next Hokage leader.

A few years after Kurei was born, the Hokage elder felt a strange or demonic power inside Kurei and thought that Kurei was the cursed child of flame in the Hokage prophecy, so he ordered Ouka to have another son with another woman. Kagerou then gave birth to Recca when Kurei was 4 years old. At first, everyone thought that Recca was just an ordinary child but when flame came out of his right arm one day, Reina, Kurei's mother, began hating the child (Recca) for he posed a threat to Kurei as the next Hokage leader.

Upon hearing about the another child of flame, the Hokage had a meeting to decide who shall be the next Hokage leader, Kurei or Recca. The Elder decided that Recca should be the one and Kurei, the cursed child, should be killed. He really would've been killed, if it wasn't for Kagerou and Ouka interrupting, saying that it is un-Hokage-like to kill a young child.

Genjuurou is a member of The Jyuushinshuu and is the leader of the group Uruha Maboroshi in the Ura Butou Satsujin. He wields the madougu Mugen, a staff that can shrink something or someone which he used to shrink Menou's father. The staff was later destroyed by Recca at their fight, though.

Genjuurou is a scientist from China who Kurei met and offered him to join his Uruha. Genjuurou was also the one who taught Kurei the technique 'Wakemi' which allow it's users to deceive the opponent by multiplying. Even though he obeys some of Kurei's orders, he's originally a traitor and hated Kurei from the start. In the Ura Butou Satsujin, he tried stealing Recca's dragons by pulling them out from him but found nothing....no dragons inside Recca. Instead, all he touched was some of Setsuna's fins which made the dragon very angry and burn him with his eye.

After Genjurou lost, Neon came in with her Fukyo Waon and played some notes which killed Genjurou. Everyone including Neon thought he was dead but he actually survived. He actually used the Wakemi and the 'Genjurou' that Neon supposedly killed was just one of Genjurou's illusions. He then escaped from fear of Kurei and asked Mori Kouran for help. Mori Kouran accepted him and Genjurou made many many clones for Mori Kouran.

At SODOM, he was again killed by Neon.

Name: Jishou

Jishou is a member of Kurei's Uruha Jyushinshuu and is the leader of the team Uruha Kurogane in the Ura Butou Satsujin. Little is known of him and it is also speculated that he's not using a madougu and 'Jisoutou', the swords he used to fight with in the said tournament is just an ordinary weapon and not a madougu made by Kokuu or Kaima.

Jishou is one of the people who are loyal to Kurei, together with Raiha and Neon. The three were friends (even if they deny it or something) and swore to protect and serve Kurei. One day, Jishou said that Genjurou and the other Jyushinshuu's moves are suspicious so he took out a knife and a paper, cut himself with the knife and wrote his name on the paper as a sign that he's going to die for Kurei and serve him loyally. (Raiha and Neon also did the same.)

In the Ura Butou Satsujin, Uruha Kurogane would've been Hokage's next opponent if it weren't for the Uruha Ma who killed all of Uruha Kurogane's members, Jishou included. Jishou's death in the anime and manga is different though.

In the anime, after Magensha used his Houmashin on Jishou, Jishou became a skeleton with no skin intact. But in the manga, after Magensha shot him with his Houmashin, Jishou was hit on the stomach and was cut in half.

Joker is the happy-go-lucky member of Kurei's Uruha Jyuushinshuu. He wields the madougu 'Taishaku Kaiten' which controls gravity. Before he became a member of the said group, he fought Jisho for two straight days with the intent of "killing all of Uruha's members". Kurei witnessed their fight and asked Joker what his name was, to which the latter replied, "If you're gonna ask for someone else's name, state your name first". Kurei invited Joker to join the Uruha. It appeared that he fought Jisho not for the purpose of killing the Uruha, but to join Uruha. He joined....for two conditions: He do what he wants, whenever he wants. He wants to be free and doesn't do something if he really doesn't want to. And...he's not good with honorifics. So instead of "Kurei-sama", he calls him "Kurei-san" or "Kurei-han".

And because of his Kansai accent, this guy, according to the fans (e.g. Bottou-chan, Fuuko no Miko and many more), he's from Osaka.

It it also said that Nanashi from Marchen Awakens Romance (another manga made by Anzai Nobuyuki-sensei) is actually Joker. This site: MÄR/Nanashi shows their similarities and some theories.

Kai is a former swordsman turned Hyoumon Ken student under Meguri Kyouza. He wields the madougu Hyouma En, a madougu which can control ice and is the counterpart of Mikagami Tokiya's Ensui, a madougu which can control water.

While training under Meguri Kyouza, Kai was looked down upon by his master, saying that Mikagami Tokiya is better than him while he's not, Tokiya is gold while he is stone, and other insults. But after he finally mastered the Hyoumon Ken, Meguri Kyouza told him the truth that only one person should know the technique of Hyoumon Ken but he has two students so he orders Kai to 'kill' Tokiya.

Kai then joins the Uruha as a Jyushinshuu and later becomes Tokiya's opponent in the Ura Butou Satsujin's last stage. He telles Tokiya everything and admits that he wasn't the one who killed his sister and that the one who did was their own master, Meguri Kyouza. After saying all this, Kai goes at the end of the ring and lets himself fall. (But because he fell after the referee declared he won, the decision wasn't changed and he remained as the winner.)

Meguri Kyouza is a Hyoumon Ken Master who wields the madougu Hyouma En. "Meguri Kyouza" was in fact not a name but more of a title for someone who mastered the said technique. He was Mikagami Tokiya's master as well as grandfather.

Meguri Kyouza wanted to teach Tokiya the Hyoumon Ken at the age of 9 because his other students died and the technique needs to be passed on which had been a tradition on the Mikagami family. But because Tokiya was still young at the time, Mifuyu, Tokiya's sister, refused and learned Hyoumon Ken in Tokiya's place.

When Kurei found out about the Hyouma En and the Ensui that the Mikagami family has, he orders his men to get it, although they didn't succeeded. In the process of searching for the Ensui, Mifuyu was killed and Meguri Kyouza blames himself because of this. He then teaches Tokiya how to use the Ensui while not telling him that he is his grandfather, and after Tokiya leaves him, he teaches Kai the Hyoumon Ken although only one student should learn the technique.

He then got recruited by Jishou to join the Uruha and he became the leader of the Jyushinshuu next to Kurei. When Kurei disappeared, Aoi recruited him to join the Ura Uruha and was tied and prisoned because of his strong overwhelming power.

On SODOM, he and Tokiya fought and after Tokiya defeated him, he told him the truth about him being his grandfather and why he blames himself for Mifuyu's death.

Name: Mikoto

Mikoto is the owner of the madougu 'Mikoto' and 'Shirahige', robots madougus that are shaped like humans. She also owns the 'Dokumashin', claws that has "the poison of poisons" and its antidote is the madougu "Gedokugan". She's one of Kurei's Uruha Jyuushinshuu and Mokuren's lover. 

When Enna, the referee of the Fuuko-Mikoto match in the Ura Butou Satsujin finals, was about to announce Fuuko as the winner, Mikoto threw a needle at her throat that prevented her to speak. Mikoto then knocks Fuuko down and because Fuuko was unable to stand up before the 10-second countdown ended, Mikoto was declared as the winner. Fuuko then stood up and breaks Mikoto's right arm and was going to break the left too if it weren't for Domon who stopped her.

In the Sealed Lands Arc of the manga, Mikoto pretends as a high school girl who Mokuren took there and abused many times. She follows Mikagami and when nearing the exit, stabs a fake Mikagami. She fails in killing Mikagami for what she stabbed was just a water clone made by his Ensui and she Mokuren were beaten.

On the SODOM arc, she died together with Mokuren when the building collapsed after their fight with Recca and Kuukai.

Name: Neon

Neon is one of Kurei's Uruha Jyuushinshuu. She was once a maid together with her sisters, Miki and Aki, until she asked Raiha if she could join the said group. She's loyal to Kurei and is willing to die for him. She owns the madougu Fukyo Waon, but it got destroyed during their 'double bout' with the Hokage's Mikagami and Recca. She's friends with Jisho and Raiha and the 3 vowed to protect and fight for Kurei in a pact. On the SODOM arc, Neon together with her 2 sisters goes back at the Ura Butou Satsujin ruins to search for Jisho's Jisoutou. After finding it, they go to SODOM and later meets with the Hokage.

At the end of the series, nothing is known of her. (But we do see her with Raiha while Kurei goes back to the past.)

Name: Noroi

Noroi is originally not a human but a dead corpse. Due to the madougu Bakuju wanting a stronger body, Noroi changes its host every once in a while. Noroi was Domon's opponent on the Ura Butou Satsujin and was able to take over Domon's body. Unluckily for him, Domon recovered his memory and Domon defeated Noroi.

Raiha is one of Kurei's Uruha Jyuushinshuu. He's the owner of the madougu "Raijin", the evil counterpart of Fuuko's madougu "Fuujin". During the Ura Butou Satsujin, he's often seen fighting only with his Katana and not even using the Raijin. When Kurei asked him why, he answered that "when the time comes that you're in real danger, I'll use the Raijin'. (Of course, that's not what he actually said, I was just trying to put it using my words.)

He's also Fuuko's "prince" who's always there to save her.

Raiha in the manga is very different from the anime. Raiha was a bit serious in the anime but he can be goofy, cute, wacky or deadly serious in the manga.

Name:Rasen

Rasen is a former Uruha Jyushinshuu member who got transferred to the Ura Uruha by Mori Kouran. Rasen wields the madougu "Koukai Gyoku", a madougu that can erase things according to its user's will but the user will lose something important to them in return. Because of this madougu, his mother vanished in accident during one of his battles. By using the madougu continously, he also lost his emotions and voice so Kirin, his partner, reads his heart and translates what he wants to say to other people.

Even though Rasen was a Jyushinshuu, he didn't participate in the Ura Butou Satsujin and only appeared at the Sealed Lands as Ura Uruha's leader. During his fight with Recca, he was suprised by Recca's determination and strength to stand up even if his body was already beaten up. After slightly realizing what Recca was feeling and was trying to tell him, he gave up afterwards.

On the SODOM arc, he and Kirin defeated the guy that was supposed to fight Kagerou and replaced him instead. Rasen wanted to erase Kagerou's curse because he thinks doing so will make his mother forgive him and he will finally vanish. But after erasing the curse, the madougu itself broke because of the curse's strong power leaving Rasen unharmed.
